This role is part of the senior leadership team for MongoDB Education which includes MongoDB Documentation, MongoDB University (online learning), MongoDB Academia (college outreach) and MongoDB Press (books).

We view learning as a multidimensional journey as different people learn differently and we want to reach learners where they are and with their learning preference.

We offer multiple learning experiences today including read it, watch it, try it, achieve it and now ask it using AI technology.

Lead the Platform Engineering team responsible for overseeing all learning capabilities platformsManage and oversee the Documentation and University platformsDirect a team of 18+ distributed engineers focused on integrating and developing technologies to support learning vision and needsBring in 'best of class' technologies into infrastructuresDevelop apps and extensions to enhance learning capabilitiesPlay a key role in shaping the technological infrastructure supporting the organization's learning initiativesRequirements:Were looking for someone with:15+ years of experience in the industry, and 5+ years of experience managing othersExperience with MongoDB (or at least a track record of solutioning with other databases)Successful track record in managing a team of managers and engineersAbility to work at a strategic level to contribute to the vision of Education and also at a tactical level to move projects forwardAbility to take business requirements at a strategic level and solution it i.e.

design architectures and solutions to enable new learning capabilitiesPassion for integrations we bring together multiple technologies to build the best experience for our learnersPassion to experiment with new technologies like AI and look at cross functional technical projects including back end, front end, web traffic and analytics projectsStrong leadership skills to build strong cross team relationships and alignmentThis role can be based out of one of our offices in Canada or the USA, or remotely in Canada or the USA.
