    Accountant

    Position Summary:

    Responsible for the completion of month end reporting from journal entries through to the financial statements. Provide various monthly reports, assist with processing of accounts payable documents, ensure fixed asset sub ledger is continually updated and prepare monthly reconciliations.

    Performance Expectations:
    • Prepare all journal entries with complete back up in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Ensure all Corporate deadlines are met.
    • Prepare financial statements, reconciliations and supporting reports in a timely manner.
    • Prepare monthly income statements and other monthly reports in a timely manner.
    • Prepare month end reconciliations in a timely manner.
    • Ensure general ledger coding is accurate.
    • Analyze and prepare monthly accruals.
    • Prepare fixed asset schedule.
    • Act as backup for AP accountant.
    • Assist with preparation of a twelve-month rolling forecast as required.
    • Assist with preparation of annual budget and five-year business plan as required.
    • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing the quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
    • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
      • Ability to make sound financial decisions and change accounting procedures as needed.
    Desired Characteristics:
    • Minimum two years of experience in accounting or in a related area.
    • Ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Act as a liaison between different departments.
