Description
Duties * You will demonstrate proper work methods and ensure team is instructed on work requirements, sequence, procedures, and deadlines to be met.
* You will report to supervisor on status and progress of work and causes for work delay.* You will make recommendations on trade training, objectives or curriculum, new training or trade tools to support the efficient and effective delivery of products and services.
* You will Coordinate in-house technical trade training for PWD supervisors and trade employees.* You will repair HVAC systems and components in structures such as, warehouses, hangars, hospitals, large office buildings and complexes.

* Must have a current state-issued Journeyman or Master's license in HVAC (or equivalent). * You will be required to obtain CPR certification.Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSTRUCT; 1) Applying knowledge and skill in the principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration; 2) Providing technical trade expertise to the associated Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic (ACEM) trade workforce and Production Division Supervisors in the PW ;3) Diagnosing, locating and repairing malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large, complex heating, ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC).

PHYSICAL EFFORT Physical effort is required to maneuver equipment in and out of specific locations while dismantling and reassembling. The work requires frequent carrying and setting-up of parts and equipment that may weigh up to 40 pounds. Hoists, holders, and pulleys are operated when removing units such as large compressors, condensers, and chillers. The work requires making repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms where the parts of systems worked. WORK ENVIRONMENT Works both inside and outside, on top of tall buildings, in drafty attic spaces, and in cramped areas with low overheads. Working in very hot and cold environments, poorly ventilated and lighted areas is occasionally required and, in some instances, work in these conditions is for the duration of the shift. The incumbent may be exposed to fumes, dust, dirt, grease and oil, and is subject to the possibility of scrapes, cuts, bruises, contusions, burns, electric shock and eye hazards.
