This position is for night shift (7pm to 7am) and will require one weekend shift per week.
Acute Care Pediatrics 10 is a 24-bed pediatric unit.
The staff care for patients from a variety of medical specialties including, but not limited to, nephrology, neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, gastrologic, and endocrinology.
The unit also sees surgical specialties such as trauma, plastics, and general care surgery patients.The unit consists of a combination of general care and step-down patients, and ACP began caring for stable ventilated patients in late 2019.
Additionally, some patients are monitored by telemetry in our general care and step-down environments.
The Unit Secretary performs a variety of clerical tasks involved in preparing, maintaining and processing patient and unit activities, data and records.

Able to perform daily activities with minimal supervision.

Issues that involve violation of VCUHS policy or procedure that involve conflicts of a sensitive nature, or that would be considered unusual in nature are to be brought to the attention of the Nurse Manager (or designee) promptly as would be warranted by the immediacy of the issue.
Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A
Additional position requirements:
Unit Secretaries work all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with specific Nurse Manager.
Schedules including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or the best interest of the work unit.
