    Job Description and Duties

    Audit Business Support (ABS) is searching for a talented individual to join our team. Under the general direction of the Administrator II, the incumbent performs various analytical tasks in support of the Audit and Legal Divisions. The incumbent will perform the highest technical, most complex account adjustments, and review audit closing processes completed by ABS technicians, analysts, and auditors for accuracy, consistency, and compliance. The incumbent is responsible for processing and reviewing the most complex and technical workloads, such as but not limited to: workloads related to interest, timely filing, payments in non-billable status, notice processing, TI & BETS transactions, over $100K, mixed files, and Notice of Proposed Assessment (NPAs). Incumbent will work with systems such as Case Management, Taxpayer Folder, Taxpayer Information (TI), Business Entities Tax System (BETS) and Professional Audit Support System (PASS) to analyze accounts for completeness and accuracy. The Program Specialist II will review and meet with management weekly to discuss the following reports: ABS Business Objects inventory, ABS NPA Cases, BE Account Adjustments, BE Claim, BE Docketed Protest, BE Interest Computation Request, BE Interest Netting, BE Manual Notices & Refunds, BE Manual Refund, BE May Department Store, BE Offset, BE PA Finalization, BE PA Finalization Error, BE Post Notice, Manual NPA & NPO Numbers. As a lead, the Program Specialist II is responsible for providing feedback, mentorship, guidance, and training on audit cases and workloads. The Program Specialist II is an ABS subject matter expert, who will provide technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders and provide technical expertise for the success of EDR.

    Working Conditions

    This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
