- JOB SUMMARY
- Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Health Information Management, the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist will provide concurrent/retrospective review, provide feedback and educate clinical care providers to improve the documentation of all conditions, treatments and care plans within the health record to accurately reflect the condition of the patient and promote patient care. In addition, documentation should reflect documentation associated with MS-DRG assignment, case mix index, severity of illness, risk of mortality, and reimbursement rules.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Education
- Current RN/LPN Licensure in the state of WV
- Licensure and Certifications
- Current RN/LPN Licensure in the state of WV
- Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in healthcare (e.g. clinical care, utilization review, case management, nursing or related field).
- Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology; best demonstrated by clinical experience in hospital setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write concisely and effectively when communicating with providers.
