    Description

    Location: **Mercer Island** **Job Summary:** As a key member of our Central Kitchen Department, the Central Kitchen Team Member is responsible for baked and cooked product preparation, food safety, quality control, packaging, and shipping . This position contributes to the companys success through the achievement of our customer service through consistent production of high quality products.

    **Specific Job Duties:**

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Produces baked and cooked products for sale in our Bakery/Coffee Shop and Prepared Foods Departments companywide.

    Maintains high-quality standards in product management and presentation.

    Prepares and packages products for transport in a manner that is consistent with department standards.

    Assists Central Kitchen Team Leader with the coordination of product shipments.

    Adheres to all food safety and sanitation requirements. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of HACCP and Department of Health provisions.

    Completes daily projects and activities as assigned or needed; ensures daily tasks and assignments are accomplished correctly and in a timely manner.

    Accurately completes written product transfer forms.

    Ensures all customer and other phone inquiries are handled with appropriate telephone etiquette, effectively providing consistent, friendly, and efficient service.

    By assessing product quality and providing timely feedback to the Central Kitchen Team Leader, actively works to ensure that highest quality products are stocked.

    Assists with quarterly physical inventories and practices inventory control.

    Contributes to a productive, enjoyable work environment; fosters working relationships that promote positive team morale.

    Demonstrates dependability and flexibility; meets attendance requirements.

    Performs other duties as assigned by the Central Kitchen Team Leader.

    **Skills Required / Qualifications:**

    Candidates will be selected from applicants having the best combination of the following qualifications:

    Minimum one-year food service or catering experience strongly preferred.

    Proven success as a team member; demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups of people.

    Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality output while working within deadlines a must. Sense of urgency.

    Demonstrates a high-level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.

    Demonstrates an interest in learning; possesses a strong interest in food and related products.

    Possesses knowledge of food safety and HACCP/Department of Health guidelines, and inventory/portion control.

    Exceptional customer service skills.

    Strong communication skills.

    Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
