- Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks such as drilling, test pits, soil / groundwater /air / surface water / soil gas sampling, surveying, construction oversight, monitoring, etc.
- Work on all phases of projects (due diligence, site investigation, field work, data evaluation, regulatory permitting, design, engineering analysis, construction and/or implementation management and documentation, and any close-out monitoring)
- Monitoring and documenting various aspects of construction projects
- Conducting technical analyses/calculations
- Interpreting various site-specific data to make conclusions and/or recommendations
- Regulatory permitting and reporting
- Performing engineering computation and analysis of subsurface data
- Writing drafts of field and engineering reports
- Preparing cost/quantity estimates

- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental/Geological Engineering, Geology required (Master's Degree preferred)
- 1+ year of related environmental experience in the fields of site investigation, remediation, environmental compliance, hazardous building materials, is preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
- Ability to follow direction, and work independently or in a team setting
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving and organizational skills
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, including 8-hour annual refresher certificates, is a plus
- Ability to travel locally and regionally
- A valid driver's license in good standing and a reliable vehicle

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an Entry-LevelEnvironmental Engineer/Scientist in our Springfield, MA office. The successful candidate must have a solid educational background and be self-motivated with a professional attitude.They will join our team of engineers/scientists that work on a variety of projects including site investigation, environmental compliance, evaluation of remedial alternatives, design, and implementation of remedial systems and/or construction management.The successful candidate will work under the supervision of project managers and/or principals.
Between field work projects, you will work in a professional office setting, preparing detailed and accurate field documentation, data analysis and reporting.
