    CHKD Health System operates Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, Virginia's only freestanding, full-service children's hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, and its pediatric practices, multi-service health centers, and urgent care locations throughout southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.     BECOME AN INPATIENT REGISTERED NURSE (RN) AT CHKD

    As an inpatient registered nurse at CHKD, you will plan, provide, and monitor individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice. You will also provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. In this your role, you'll find:

    AVAILABLE INPATIENT AREAS INCLUDE:

    • Emergency Department
    • NICU
    • Progressive Care
    • Hematology/Oncology
    • Integrated Health Unit
    • Outpatient Surgery Centers
    • OR (Must have Peri-Op 101)

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Providing developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
    • Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Communicates and collaborates effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
    • Performing other duties as assigned to support department and hospital operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    License and Certification Requirements:

    • Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Must have an associate's in nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience with applicable experience. BSN is preferred.
    • 2+ years of RN experience preferred
    • RN certification preferred.
    • Pediatric experience preferred.
    • CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

    • Clinical work environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature fluctuations.
