    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our perinatal practice. Applicants with prior experience as a medical assistant or coding with fast typing skills are encouraged to apply for the medical scribe position. Knowledge in OBGYN a plus

    ** SPANISH FLUENCY IS PREFERRED**

    We are located in Fort Lauderdale, FL

    This is also an excellent opportunity for a pre-med or pre-PA candidate who is looking to gain valuable hands-on clinical and administrative experience. The Medical Scribe will work closely with our physicians and healthcare providers to accurately document patient encounters, procedures, and other medical activities in real-time. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare or medicine.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • At least one-year experience in medical office
    • Preparing and assembling medical record documentation/charts for physician
    • Entering the patient room with the physician during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications
    • Ensuring medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation to include: Scribe name, title and doctor working for as well as specific date and time entry
    • Accurately transcribes all data as dictated by provider at the time of visit.
    • Updating patient history, physical exam and other pertinent health information in the patient record
    • Preparing and sending all documentation to physician for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
    • Compliance with Signature Perinatal policies, including those relating to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
    • Accompany MD to local hospitals as required
    • Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
    • Candidate must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology at a level normally acquired through a medical office environment.
    • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team member
    • Performing clinical intake of patients, which includes taking and recording vital signs and patient history.
    • Completing proper and concise EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all clinical assessments and procedures
    • Manage patient database
    • Communication and correspondence including lab results, prescription management, and referrals under physician guidance
    • Various assigned administrative processes
    • Recent graduates welcome to apply

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., Biology, Pre-Med, Health Sciences), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe medical information in real-time.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards of practice.

    Candidate Qualifications:

    • Fast Typist (>70-80 wpm)
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but training will be provided
    • Full time
