Job DescriptionJob Overview:
The Law Office of Shantell S. Nashatka is seeking an associate attorney, focused primarily in family law/domestic relations, to join our growing team. At the Law Office of Shantell S. Nashatka, every employee makes an impact of the practice. We can teach you the area of family law. You must have a desire and willingness to learn this area of practice. You'll be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, as well as keeping client files up to date and moving forward. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, communication and analytical skills, and client management ability. Candidates are expected to be professional, detail/task oriented, computer literate, and have a self-motivated work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Draft and review discovery, correspondence, and pleadings
Prepare all pre-trial materials
Conduct initial consultations with potential clients
Attend trial with the senior attorney
Negotiate settlements and make court appearances as necessary
Communicate with clients, Guardians ad litem, court staff, and opposing counsel
Requirements:
Candidate has a Juris Doctor and is admitted to the Virginia Bar
Analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with limited supervision and is self-motivated
Experience with legal research
