    Responsibilities

    Protection & Control Designs:

    • Electrical substations - new construction and upgrades/retrofits.
    • Preparation and review of various documents and drawings.
    Document Preparation:
    • Bid, construction, and as-built documents.
    • Job cost estimates.
    • Development of proposals, including scope of work and estimates.
    Substation Testing and Commissioning:
    • Field visits, including pre-engineering, pre-construction, and post-construction inspections.
    Knowledge and Leadership:
    • Working knowledge of codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE).
    • Proficiency with applications and tools for project completion.
    • Lead QA/QC process and sign off on engineering documents.
    Team Management and Client Relationships:
    • Manage a team of engineers, technicians, and designers.
    • Build and manage relationships with clients.
    Experience and Education
    • 8+ years of experience in substation protection & controls design.
    • 3+ years of engineering experience with Southern Company Services.
    • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
    • Registered Professional Engineer (preferable).
