    Description

    Our clinic in Greenfield is located in the heart of the Salinas Valley, formed by the Gabilan Mountains range to the east and the Santa Lucia Mountains range to the west.

    Greenfield is, approximately 135 miles south of San Francisco, 95 miles south of San Jose, and 60 miles north of Paso Robles.

    The area is filled with rich soil and a desirable climate, ideal for agriculture and wineries.


    JOB SUMMARY:

    Job Summary:
    Provides advanced nursing care and physician support during the treatment of pediatric patients


    Job Duties:
    Provide care to infant, child, or adolescent patients in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions.

    Obtains patient history screens patients to ensure appropriate physical/mental development, administers immunizations, orders tests or scans, diagnoses illnesses, prescribes medicines, and outlines and monitors courses of treatment.

    Partners with physicians in the development of care plans, and advises physicians in changes of patient status. Assists patients in the management of chronic illnesses and promotes health and wellness. Performs school or extra-curricular physical examinations. Adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Monitors and ensures the accuracy of patient medical records.

    Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.

    Requires an advanced degree in nursing (MSN or DNP), RN and NP licensure, and 2 to 4 years of related experience.


    Reports to:
    Typically reports to a department head

    Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Problem-solving skills. Attentiveness. Interpersonal skills.

    Provides care to infant, child, or adolescent patients in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions.

    Performs procedures as qualified by training, specialty, and protocol with supervising physician oversight and approval.

    Obtains patient history screens patients to ensure appropriate physical/mental development, administers immunizations, orders tests or scans, diagnoses illnesses, prescribes medicines, and outlines and monitors courses of treatment.


    Performs physical examinations, or those assessments pertinent to the reason for the visit, to provide a patient database and/or basis for a therapeutic or health maintenance plan.

    Orders appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, etc., and comparable procedures, under established protocols.

    Diagnoses and treats common illnesses and injuries under established protocols.

    Practices in accordance with Hospital Medical Staff bylaws and guidelines.

    Records health, social, and other pertinent problems and data in the medical records.


    Orders routine medications and treatments under established protocols for acutely and chronically ill patients under the supervision of the physician and established protocols.

    Works with other staff in the establishment, evaluation, and monitoring of treatment programs.

    Follows all policies and procedures (medical and fiscal) when completing medical charts, billing forms and other required paperwork.

    Review protocols and patient care activities with a supervising physician annually.

    Review all referrals with the supervising physician where appropriate.

    Participates in quality assurance and utilization review.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:
    Completion of the Accredited Nurse Practitioner program


    Skill Requirements:
    Ability to communicate effectively

    Attentiveness. Interpersonal skills


    Licensing and Certification Requirements:

    Requires an advanced degree in nursing (MSN or DNP), RN and NP licensure, and 2 to 4 years of related experience.

    Current License as Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner with the Board of Registered Nursing in the State of California.


    Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program of study that conforms to the Board's educational standards set forth in the California Code of Regulations Section 1484 for California graduates only.

    Or


    Current certification by one of the following boards: the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board or National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties, or the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

    Current AHA BLS certified

    Current AHA ACLS certified (if submitting privileges for inpatient setting)


    Physical Demands:
    Must be able to sit and stand/walk for 12 hours per day.

    Must be able to bend, push/pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
