- Managing, developing, and coaching professional staff
- Planning and reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for skilled nursing facilities and home offices
- Educating and communicating with clients about the impacts of the cost reports on their reimbursement and Medicaid payment rates
- Understanding client service relationships and how to utilize firm resources to provide unmatched client experiences to existing clients
- Using technology tools proficiently in regular assignments and demonstrating a commitment to improving work processes through the use of technology
- Demonstrating the ability to recognize problems and propose sensible solutions, with an appropriate balance between client needs and the firm's risk
- Consistently identifying engagement and operating opportunities for improvement and providing timely solutions and consultation
- Managing multiple concurrent engagements without disruption and within scheduled deadlines
- Providing staff with timely performance feedback
- Managing multiple client relationships, billings, and resource needs
- Building personal referral sources and clientele while actively participating in team marketing opportunities
- Participating in speaking and article-writing opportunities
- An aptitude to recruit and develop firm associates and team members and provide training and coaching to other professionals
- Team and engagement management skills
- Innovative ideas to serve clients
- Written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate to people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels
- An ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment to reach clear-set goals
- Ability to maintain professional client and referral source relationships
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- At least 7 years of relevant healthcare, long-term care, or senior living experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Experience preparing or reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
- Working knowledge of key business processes in long-term care, such as Payroll-Based Journals, Medicare billing, survey processes, Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Compare, case management, admissions, etc.
- Familiarity with PointClickCare or other long-term care billing software
- CPA or CPA-eligible
