    Job Description Summary

    The clinical Nurse contributes to the creation of a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening.

    Job Description60;Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.60;Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests toidentifyand assess patients' conditions.60;Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, carerendered.60;Applies soundnursing judgment in patient care management decisions.60;Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.60;Administersover-the-counterand prescription medications as ordered.60;Collaborates with thenursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.60;Directs and guides ancillary personnel andmaintainstandards of professionalnursing.60;Minimum Qualifications60;Graduate of a professional academicnursing program in which a Diploma,Associate Degreeor Baccalaureate Degree is conferred60;Must hold current NYS RegisteredNurselicense60;Obtains andmaintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 60;Minimum of 1-3 years ofpreviousclinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care60;Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills60;Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques anddemonstratesability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.60;Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center​Albany Medical is an equal opportunity employer.
