    Description


    Looking for a very hands-on, detail-oriented Controller to partner with the CFO and management team to make strategic decisions, based on accurate, consistent, and timely financials.

    The Controller will be responsible for building-out and improving the accounting infrastructure and establishing proper financial processes & procedures, policies, and controls, while managing the end-to-end accounting process.

    This role leads the execution and reporting to internal and external parties and works closely with business partners to support a consumer products company looking to achieve the next phase of growth.

    Key Responsibilities
    Consistently generate financial books and records with the highest level of integrity, while continuously working to reduce latency.

    Oversee all day-to-day accounting tasks and operations, including but not limited to, billings, AR / AP management, GL mapping, new customer and vendor setup, lender reporting, and banking activities.

    Manage the month-end closing process, providing direction and guidance to internal and external parties, with the goal of delivering financials within 10 days of month-end.

    Execute and review the recording of revenue and expenses, GL account reconciliations, preparation, and maintenance of balance sheet schedules, etc., to ensure accurate and consistent treatment of all transactions and entries.

    Identify, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, controls, and practices in adherence with GAAP / PCAOB standards.
    Prepare and lead the company through external financial audits, thoroughly understanding how the results and conclusions impact the business.

    Work with tax firms to manage federal, state, and local government regulatory & compliance, tax preparation, reporting, and filing requirements.

    Assist with the preparation of forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans.
    Lead the financial preparation of regulatory filings and registrations related to securities offerings and capital raises.
    Ensure company compliance and good standing on all business licenses and permits.

    Support the CFO on other matters, including payroll, benefits administration, 401K, insurance and risk management, and evaluation and implementation of financial technology and systems.

    What We're Looking For
    Bachelor's in accounting or finance required; Master's in Accounting preferred (required if Bachelors in Finance)
    10+ years of experience in fully-cycle accounting required
    CPA required
    Significant experience managing inventory and COGS
    Advanced understanding of GAAP standards
    Advanced NetSuite experience required
    Experience using , Expensify/Ramp, Domo, and Shopify, a plus
    CPG and omnichannel (DTC, Retail, B2B, AMZN) experience preferred, understanding of retail-math
    Extremely detail-oriented, well-prepared, and articulate
    Salary base ranging from $150,000 - $185,000
