    Reports to: Service Manager

    Company Overview:

    Best Equipment is a heavy equipment dealership that specializes in specialized environmental trucks that include refuse, hydro excavators, street sweepers, and leaf collection vehicles.

    We are family owned since 1917 and operate in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, and our family values are at the core of everything we do.

    This position will train at Best Equipment's headquarters in Indianapolis where they will shadow experienced technicians and they will travel to the various equipment factories to complete their training. At Best we succeed as a team, and information is freely available.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    Work being performed closely relates to that of heavy equipment technician with a focus on Hydraulics, Electrical, Controls, and Fabrication. Some overnight travel is required.

    Qualified applicants will have the following:

    • Minimum of five years' experience in the troubleshooting and repair of 12-volt electrical systems
    • Ability to read and comprehend complex wiring schematics
    • Proficient in hydraulic systems including electric over hydraulic and air over hydraulic systems
    • High mechanical aptitude
    • Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems
    • Ability to work without direct supervision
    • Fabrication, Welding, and Class 7/8 Chassis Experience is a Plus
