- Builds, manages, configures and monitors Linux Operating Systems in a virtual infrastructure. This includes management of security tools for anti-malware and firewall.
- Supports and maintains RedHat Server 6, 7, 8, 9 and newer versions in an Active Directory environment.
- Supports and manages WordPress, Apache, Nginx and other Linux web publishing platforms.
- Ensure risk and vulnerability mitigation via automated patch management.
- Configures and Supports web load balancer for delivering enterprise web applications.
- Ensures all changes are made in accordance with FDU's change control, security, and risk assessment policies.
- Performs various functions related to website maintenance, performance, and reporting as needed.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to recommend process improvements, choose effective solutions, and solve problems.
- Follows Change Management process for all changes to production systems, including documenting all changes made to systems.
- Provides end-user support, which includes the resolution of support tickets assigned to the department.
- Maintains a working knowledge of continuing developments in the field of Computer Security.
- Maintains broad technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
- Flexibility to work required hours to address critical department needs, on-call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year with defined response time 24 hours, except when on vacation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science required or equivalent plus 2 years' experience in Linux Systems Administration. RedHat certification a plus.
- Ability to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of RedHat Linux systems.
- Strong knowledge of setting up, maintaining, and monitoring system hardware in data centers with minimal guidance.
- Experience utilizing RedHat enterprise management tool as RedHat Ansible Automation and RedHat Satellite.
- Experience with PowerShell and shell scripting.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Perl, PHP .
- Experience utilizing various backup software in a virtualized environment like Veeam. Ability to review, troubleshoot and restore systems from backup software as needed.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere ESXi and support experience with multisite replication and SRM .
- Familiarity in working with relational database management systems ( SQL , MySQL).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10/11 in an Active Directory environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and user account management.
- General knowledge of Cloud technologies, Networking, TCP /IP, and networking protocols ( NFS , CIFS , SMB2).
- Knowledge and experience in website UX design
- Effective organizational skills to meet schedules and timelines. Must be able to work independently and produce deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities with efficient time management skills.
- Strong coordination and planning skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
