    Senior Director, Technical Accounting

    Position Summary:

    Reporting directly to the Global Chief Accounting Officer, the Senior Director of Technical Accounting will oversee and champion various technical accounting assessments and policies, most specifically related to the application of ASC 606. Working directly with the Global Executive Leadership Team as well as external auditors, this individual will lead the highly critical technical accounting function for Catalent's global organization.

    The Role:

    • Work with Chief Accounting Officer and other members of the Technical Accounting Network to establish, develop and document the company's global accounting policies
    • Be the accounting subject matter expert for various non-standard accounting topics applicable to the business
    • Research and document the accounting and SEC reporting impact of new or unusual transactions in the form of white papers; work closely with the business to ensure accurate financial reporting related to such topics
    • A key member of the global Technical Accounting Network ("TAN") for the company. The TAN is a community of practice of experts in US GAAP, Internal Controls, and Catalent Policies and Procedures
    • Assist to deliver global training on a quarterly basis covering accounting and control topics relevant for the company
    • Advise, guide and monitor the business as it relates to compliant accounting behavior
    • Assist in implementing accounting and accounting-related projects (e.g. implementation of new accounting standards, business and M&A projects)
    • Create presentations and present to senior management
    • Work directly with the external auditors on accounting positions, reporting and disclosure
    • Coordinate work activities with other company leaders around the world
    • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

    The Candidate:

    • BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited institution
    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an Accounting, Finance or Business-related area, or equivalent experience
    • CPA with public accounting experience is a must
    • At least 10 years' experience in finance and accounting
    • Experience supporting CDMO or Contract Manufacturing highly preferred
    • Experience with planning and consolidation systems (OneStream preferred)
    • Expert in US GAAP
    • Experience in financial reporting and/or technical accounting of an SEC registrant
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly assess the accounting and reporting implications of complex transactions
    • Demonstrated ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-written memorandums and presentations articulating these matters
    • Driven, confident individual who is comfortable working independently while actively seeking guidance when necessary
    • Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues
    • Strong executive presence
    • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience
