Position Summary
The Student Success Librarian is a tenure track academic faculty librarian position reporting to the Director of Libraries.
The ideal candidate must be creative, service-oriented, have a commitment to and aptitude for teaching college students as well as strong outreach and communication skills.
The Student Success Librarian will partner with academic departments including Health, Kinesiology and Communication Disorders In addition, they will act as the Library's liaison to student support offices such as educational opportunity program, residence life, campus activities, multicultural life.
This position will collaborate with students, faculty and staff to create and participate in programs that not only supports academic persistence but also celebrates and addresses the unique needs of a diverse student populationMajor Responsibilities
Partners with non-academic departments to enhance learning and engagement for student success and retention
Communicates with Admissions and represents the library at events such as orientations, prospective and accepted student days, tours, etc.
Participates in the library instruction program and serves as a liaison to academic departments. (Health, Kinesiology, Communication Disorders)
Provides reference services at a desk, via technology, and by appointment.
Selects and evaluates materials to be added to the library's collections in collaboration with faculty and other library staff.
May work evenings and weekends as appropriate ·Functional and Supervisory Relationships

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in information and/or library science from an ALA-accredited school or an ALA- approved foreign equivalent
Experience developing training materials and delivering instruction
Experience with public service and working with students to support their academic success
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in academic libraries
Previous experience collaborating with campus offices on equity, diversity, or inclusion initiatives and student engagement.
Familiarity with library systems and library software (Alma/Primo, SpringShare,etc)
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Knowledge of trends and services in academic libraries that support diverse student programs
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
Knowledge of best practices in information literacy instruction.
