Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage essential financial records, support administrative functions, and ensure the accuracy of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, technical accounting expertise, and a passion for maintaining precise financial data. Your contributions will help streamline operations, support compliance with accounting standards, and promote overall business efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Support payroll processing and tax-related activities while ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial concepts understanding, and technical accounting tasks related to nonprofit or corporate environments.
  • Collaborate with external auditors or accountants during audits or financial reviews to provide necessary documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in public accounting or corporate finance environments.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Experience with governmental or nonprofit accounting is a plus.
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations relevant to business operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy setting.
  • Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to do grant tracking a plus.

Pay: $ $26.74 per hour
