Description
Job DescriptionThe University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, open tenure track at the rank of assistant/associate professor faculty member in the Biomedical Health Sciences (BHS) Program in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) at the School of Health Professions (SHP).
Qualified candidates will have experience in teaching physiology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with terminal clinical (PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, etc.) or Physician Assistant (PA) degrees, and experience with instructing clinical content including anatomy.
The selected applicant will develop an independent research program and fulfill service responsibilities.Advisory experience including knowledge of requirements and coaching for admissions into health professional graduate programs such as medicine, dental, and PA studies, as well as design and implementation of individualized development plans for students is desirable.
In alignment with the programmatic mission, the preferred candidate is well-versed in recruiting from diverse student populations.The BHS program is a collaboration between the UAB SHP and the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, with program faculty that consists of an energetic, cohesive group of individuals.
SHP is considered one of the nations largest and most diverse, and UAB is ranked as one of the premier schools and research institutions in the country.
UAB is located in Birmingham, an international city that enjoys a reputation as one of Americas best places for a family to live, work, and play.
