    Manufacturing Project Engineer

    Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company is looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join our team.


    What you will be doing:

    • Management of continual improvement projects in both manufacturing and office environments.
    • Assist Leadership in leading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, sustainability, and environmental.
    • Management of small Capital projects for manufacturing equipment.
    • Facilitation and participation in cross functional teams.
    • Responsible for strategic coordination of all projects within Operational Excellence Group to achieve annual cost savings goals.
    • Will need to manage own projects as well as Champion projects managed by others.
    • Act as a change agent for leading continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
    • Conduct timing and point of loss yield studies to identify the loss Pareto.
    • Perform data analysis and provide written reports that make problems and opportunities visible.
    • Develop a detailed root cause analysis for each problem, where each root cause is validated through testing.
    • Generate and communicate implementation plans using Gantt charts and coordinate implementation plans as necessary.
    • Proactively seek and identify problems that need to be resolved and quantify the anticipated savings benefits of problem resolution.

    The skills and experience you need:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Engineering or other manufacturing related field with two (2) years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment OR High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification or other Lean certifications.
    • Manufacturing experience with metal or high-volume manufacturing products.
    • Excellent communications skills and ability to work in cross functional teams.
    • Ability to provide formal reports, calculate ROI, implement metrics, and audit procedures.
    • Ability to utilize MS Office software at a high level.
    Having any of the following skills is a plus:

    • Experience with industrial coating processes a plus.
    • Experience with industrial automation or robotics.
    • Experience with roll forming or tube mills.
    • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience.
