    The VP, Bermuda Risk contributes to the independent Risk function by providing effective oversight of insurance, ALM, investment and operational risk management across our Bermuda organization.

    Reporting to the CRO for GA Bermuda, SVP, this position will work to understand, manage, and report risk exposures.

    This individual will bring strong experience in annuity asset/liability modeling and management, market risk analysis, operational risk management, and Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement, to the team.

    Responsibilities
    Oversight of insurance, ALM, investment and operational risks for the Bermuda business
    Performs validations and control reviews of actuarial/financial models, including assessments of the methodologies and assumptions used within models
    Provides effective review, challenge, and recommendations for enhancement of the Risk Appetite and Limits structure and calibration of stresses used to assess risk exposure

    Develops and maintains effective relationships with other functions (Treasury, Finance, Actuarial, Audit, Compliance, etc.), to facilitate a holistic view of risk across the organization and to strengthen cross-disciplined risk management.

    Present the quarterly risk results to the Board and / or Board Committees
    Capital analysis of strategic Bermuda initiatives or major business decisions
    Capital and solvency projection under a range of scenarios
    Quarterly and annual filings to the BMA
    Leads people effectively, as needed, by fostering a positive working relationship that brings out the best in others.
    Qualifications

    10+ years in a diversified life and annuity/financial or actuarial consulting firm required
    Actuarial Qualification preferred
    Professional designation in financial risk management, such as FSA or CFA preferred
    Deep understanding of risk management principles, processes, and practices

    Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when articulating technical concepts in a compelling manner to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Ability to independently lead workstreams from concept to implementation.
    Demonstrated experience in quantifying and managing the risk embedded in annuity products.
    Able to quickly build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across business functions and teams.
