    The salary range for this position is $115,692 - $151,471.

    We are looking for a Sr. Materials Planner. As a Sr. Materials Planner, you'll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems.

    As a Sr. Materials Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibility will be to manage production plans, monitor inventory levels, and materials to meet production requirements. In addition, you'll be obtaining and negotiating vendor quotes, generating purchase requisitions, working with vendors and internal suppliers to confirm expected delivery dates of open orders, generating/releasing/managing open production work orders, and reporting material readiness posture. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze forecasts, and maintain production schedules.     Responsibilities:

    • Perform system-level planning in a manufacturing environment driven to a Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) schedule
    • Achieve 95% or greater on time delivery to MRP at a top-level assembly level
    • Generate and maintain daily/weekly build schedules and communicate cross functionally
    • Report status of material shortages, material availability, and build progress cross-functionally, expediting external and internal supply when appropriate
    • Troubleshoot material issues impacting the build schedule
    • Proactively identify material constraints, identify solutions and lead cross-functional efforts to resolution
    • Partner with vendors to confirm expected deliveries and expedite material when appropriate

    You'd be a good fit with:

    • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related field
    • 5+ years of experience of materials planning in a manufacturing environment with multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs)
    • Strong understanding of MRP in a manufacturing environment (i.e., planning, purchasing, inventory management and manufacturing operations)
    • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
    • Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and collaborate with other teams to achieve results
    • Mindset of continuous improvement, strong drive for results, sense of urgency, and a strong bias for action
    • Strong analytical and data management skills (strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and highly ambiguous environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally

    You'd be a great fit with:

    • Experience with NetSuite by Oracle
    • Experience with Power BI
    • Experience with Google Suite (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • APICS CPIM or CSCP
    • Project management abilities/experience

    This position is a full-time, on-site role, based out of IonQ's newest facility in Bothell, WA.


    Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. Depending on the position, you may be required to be located in Washington DC, Seattle, Washington or the Toronto, Canada area. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don't let this stop you from applying.
