    Default job background
    Description
    Geotechnical Engineer EIT J )

    Description

Many of the world's top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community's interaction with water a bit differently—as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries.

Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed.

Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. By 2025 we're hiring 2,000 people (like you) to join our team. Grow with us, H2O+U.

Stantec's Geotechnical practice has an immediate opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer in Training (EIT).

Assists in executing detailed analysis and evaluation of geotechnical hazards under the supervision of a project engineer, as it relates to the design and construction phases of the project.

Assists team in preparing designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.

Assists in supporting our multi-discipline teams in providing services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.

Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

An understanding of geotechnical engineering concepts and analysis methods.

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Willing to travel on an as-needed basis in support of geotechnical investigations, construction, and inspections.

    Education and Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering. Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering discipline preferred.

Minimum of 0-5 years of experience. More than 3 years of geotechnical experience is preferred.
