    Position Overview: Our client, a leading provider of gas turbine components in La Porte, TX, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to oversee drafting, design, and technical representation functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of drafting and design processes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and documentation accuracy.

    Technical Representative Management:

    • Supervise all Technical Representatives and Technical Documentation Administrator.
    • Ensure thorough review of job-related documentation before shipment.
    • Oversee the review process before sending documentation to customers.

    Drafting and Designing Operations:

    • Manage drafting and design personnel, scheduling all component drawing and design projects.
    • Enhance reverse engineering knowledge and methods, and develop new inspection methods and procedures.
    • Research and implement new technology repairs and dimensional criteria.
    • Maintain component drawing and technical information database, and optimize drafting and design operations.
    • Create and implement inspections, testing criteria, procedures, and developed product specifications through reverse engineering.
    • Create scheduling of projects and prioritize based on complexity and ship date using ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics).
    • Interact with customers on incoming, in-process and final reviews, and answer any questions they might have pertaining to their parts.
    • Generate incoming inspection reports, along with recommended repairs and budgets, and final reports upon completion of repairs.
    • Analyze flow test results to rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust components to meet specifications.
    • Reverse engineer and evaluate drawing designs by dimensional inspections and comparing to original specifications.
    • Draft drawings and sketches using Autodesk Inventor to manufacture new parts to replace used parts.
    • Personally devise, fabricate, machine and assemble fixtures needed to repair or test components.

    Requirements:

    • Engineering degree required.
    • Experience in drafting, print issue, and document control.
    • Work experience with gas stripping components, especially gas turbine components.
    • Proficiency with Super alloy metal, Heavy TIG, and CNC Machining.
    • Experience in modern production operations.
    • Full-time on-site role in LaPorte, Texas.
    • Experience managing Engineers and Project Managers.
    • Ability and willingness to drive automation initiatives.
