    Job Description

    The North Tonawanda Cogeneration facility is a 55-megawatt combined-cycle cogeneration plant located in North Tonawanda, NY. The plant features one GE Frame 6 gas turbine generator, one HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator), and one GE steam turbine generator.

    This facility ensures efficient and reliable power generation while serving as a vital source of electricity for the surrounding area. It contributes to the region's energy needs by operating under established procedures with occasional complexities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in training program to become a qualified Auxiliary Plant Operator
    • Perform station shift operations and maintenance, including startup and shutdown of plant components, and conduct routine plant tours to ensure equipment is in order while prioritizing safety
    • Assist with chemical handling and equipment switching, maintain housekeeping standards, and perform preventive maintenance
    • Collaborate with team members and departments to support the facility's goals, operating under established procedures with occasional complexities

    Requirements:

    • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school
    • Some power plant experience in operations and/or maintenance is desired
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, including motors, pumps, boilers, fluid systems, chemical handling, water treatment systems, pollution control equipment, AC and DC electrical distribution and control systems, etc., and associated maintenance functions is desired
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license at all times

    Salary Range:

    $28.00 - $36.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
