- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks and replacements, filter replacements, and other preventive measures to ensure the fleet's overall health.
- Diagnostic Assessment: Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles. Analyze error codes and symptoms to pinpoint the root causes of problems.
- Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace faulty components, including brakes, suspension systems, exhaust systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains. Ensure repairs are performed accurately and efficiently.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot complex vehicle issues by analyzing symptoms, conducting tests, and researching technical manuals. Develop effective solutions to restore vehicle functionality.
- Warranty and Recall: Keep up to date with manufacturer recalls and warranty information. Coordinate with relevant parties to address any recalls or warranty-related repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, parts used, and services performed. Enter data into electronic databases or maintenance software.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all repaired vehicles meet safety standards and regulations. Perform thorough safety checks after repairs to prevent any potential hazards.
- Parts Management: Order, track, and manage inventory of replacement parts and supplies. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of required parts.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians, lead technicians, and supervisors to share knowledge, discuss complex issues, and solve problems collectively.
- Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends through continuous learning. Attend workshops, training sessions, and certification programs as required.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure that repairs and maintenance are performed to the highest quality to minimize rework and maximize vehicle reliability.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness of the fleet.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive/diesel technology is preferred.
- DOT certifications preferred.
- General knowledge on air and hydraulic braking systems a plus
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive/Diesel technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues.
- Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and suspension.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- ASE certifications or equivalent are a plus.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Able to travel to customer yard when business requires it
- Prior experience working on forklifts, front end loaders, skip loaders, and other equipment a plus.
- Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical and lift test.

What You'll Do:
The SVT Intermediate Fleet Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring their optimal functionality, safety, and performance. This role requires a solid foundation in automotive/Diesel and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve various technical issues. The technician will work as part of a team under the supervision of a lead technician or fleet manager.
