    Description

    Our client, a dynamic consumer products company, is actively seeking an In-house General Counsel. The General Counsel will provide continuous legal advice to the management team, and assist in developing and implementing corporate policies covering compliance, risk management, business development, operations, and human resources.

    Responsibilities:

    • Offer strategic legal guidance to management.
    • Establish internal governance policies and manage external influences.
    • Assess and consider various inputs and consequences of decisions.
    • Strategically anticipate issues and assess risks.
    • Develop proactive solutions to reduce or eliminate risks.
    • Make decisions based on ethics and integrity.
    • Build trust and respect with key stakeholders.
    • Liaise with external entities such as regulators, external counsel, politicians, and clients.
    • Recruit, motivate, and enhance team performance.
    • Draft legal agreements to minimize risks and protect legal rights.
    • Achieve legal objectives and handle complex matters that involve multiple legal and related areas.
    • Stay updated on legislative changes.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Must be licensed with the California State Bar.
    • At least 10 years of experience as an In-House General Counsel or Associate/Attorney at a law firm.
    • Demonstrated experience in a business environment.
    • Comprehensive legal knowledge including corporate law, litigation, labor law, and intellectual property.
    • Strong understanding of the legal impacts on organizations.
    • Skilled in developing legal strategies and objectives.
    • Knowledgeable in business operations with strong financial and negotiation skills.
    • High ethical standards and integrity with excellent judgment and analytical skills.
    • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to foresee and mitigate potential legal issues, and identify the obvious and subtleties within legal challenges.
