    Description
    Performs paraprofessional and some professional work in the Fair Employment Section of Human Resources.

    Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of the County's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/Affirmative Action Programs (AAP).

    Responsible for providing advice and guidance regarding FMLA/EEO/AAP planning, monitoring, reporting, and training to ensure departmental compliance with Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended, the Florida Human Rights Act of 1977, as amended and other Federal, State, and local anti-discrimination, retaliation, and EEO regulations throughout the County organization.

    The Incumbent is required to exercise a moderate degree of independent judgment in solving a wide array of issues, which arise within the scope of Fair Employment Programs.

    Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observations of results obtained.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Social Science, Criminal Justice, Law, Business/Public Administration, or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the human resources, medical, or legal field


    Equivalencies:

    Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of related experience OR unrelated Associate's Degree and three (3) years of related experience OR graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification and four (4) years of related experience.

    PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1)


    YEAR OF EXPERIENCE:
    Working in a Human Resources office or Anti-Discrimination Enforcement Agency where work activity included interpretation of statutes and policies


    Also desirable:
    Experience researching legal decisions in discrimination cases and/or administering reasonable accommodations (must specify on application).#J-18808-Ljbffr
