    Description
    Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse- Corrections to work at a Facility in Pinckneyville , WV. These are registry positions with our company. Must live 50 miles away from facility to qualify for higher rate.

    Days or nights: days

    Shift: 7a-3p

    Pay Per Hour: $51 -$57



    Travel Stipend available and is tax free if you live 50 miles away from the assignment.

    Summary: Provides health care for those who have been incarcerated in a controlled/safe environment. This includes case management, responding to episodes of acute illness, emergency call management, medication administration, psychiatric evaluations, and assessment of new inmates.

    Requirements:

    • The requirements are: At least one year (12 months) of experience as a nurse.
    • A valid and current nurse license issued within the US
    • Valid and current CPR
    • Corrections is a plus but not a must - training provided.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.



    Job Responsibilities:

    • Health Assessments
    • Sick Call Clinic
    • Provides general nursing care to patients.
    • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
    • Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatments and examinations of patients.
    • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
    • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of patient.
    • May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients.
    • Additional duties given by Supervisor.
    • Collaborates with primary care providers and other health care providers to ensure continuity, timeliness, and appropriateness of care to inmate patients.
    • Coordinates and/or administers medication, therapeutic agents, treatments, to inmate patients.
    • Applies surgical dressings & bandages.
    • Provides emergency first aid care.
    • Reports reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the inmates' emotional or physical condition
    • Provides inmate patient education and/or discharge planning.
    • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
    • Promotes a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical, and tactful manner.
