    Instructional Designer / Data Quality Specialist

    Venesco LLC is seeking an Instructional Designer / Data Quality Specialist to assist the 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, OH. In this position, you will evaluate USAFSAM educational programs to pinpoint trends, outliers, and data quality issues that affect senior-level communication across the enterprise necessary for successful USAFSAM education operations.

    The main objective is to oversee, create, and manage various complex data tracking methods to ensure accurate monitoring of educational resources and metric utilization including (student data, allocation utilization, learning management system analysis, and other required analytical tasks to achieve mission goals). The data produced will align with the strategic direction of the USAFSAM Education and Training mission, the Aerospace and Operational Medical Enterprise (AOME) teams at DoD installations worldwide, higher headquarters personnel, and supported line mission partners.

    The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, serves as the first human-centric warfare wing bringing together human performance research, education, and consultation within a single entity. Operating under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW consists of the Airman Systems Directorate (RH) and the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Wing provides unparalleled expertise to the Air Force through its exceptional infrastructure and the diverse skills of its military, civilian, and contractor workforce, covering 75 occupational specialties spanning science, engineering, health and safety, medical professions, technical roles, education, and business operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • 2.1 Evaluate USAFSAM educational programs to spot trends, outliers, and data quality issues affecting senior-level communication crucial for successful USAFSAM education operations.
    • 2.2 Develop, document, communicate, and review technical guidance and courses of action (COAs) to enhance the USASFSAM Education Department's data quality and program performance, designed for tactical and strategic use by education professionals and senior leaders to make informed decisions regarding educational objectives.
    • 2.3 Provide direct assistance for USAFSAM-level data review, as necessary, to address data quality and performance issues affecting enterprise-wide analytics and related communication.
    • 2.4 Collaborate with Air Force/DoD leaders to propose necessary actions to rectify specific data quality and performance gaps, enhance program execution, and strengthen enterprise-wide analytics and related communication.
    • 2.5 Recommend additional data analytics and visualizations to boost data quality and program performance.
    • 2.6 Support student inquiries, attendance tracking, class roster management, course completion, and graduation activities. Assist in creating student resources and resolving prerequisites. Maintain attendance records and engage with absent students effectively. Undertake other educational tasks as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • The candidate must hold a Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related technical field.
    • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a professional setting in mathematics, data analytics, or statistics, including expertise in educational data analysis, with an emphasis on adult learning/higher education.
    • Proficiency in data querying or analysis using tools such as SigmaPlot, R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, or similar environments.
    • Knowledge of statistics, machine learning algorithms, or algorithm development.
    • Familiarity with tools like Tableau for impactful data model development and visualization.
    • Ability to review scientific publications for theory and model validation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, independent and collaborative work capabilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Must have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with their company due to potential access to confidential information, to be provided to the Government Program Manager at the start of employment.

    Highly Desired Qualifications:

    • Prior experience in the Air Force Medical Service
    • Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System
    • Understanding of the Genius Student Information System
    • Knowledge of other relevant systems like student testing, faculty qualification tracking, and customer feedback
