    The HPEM Technologies Deputy Branch Chief is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the branch.

    Supports branch chief to lead 43 military, civilian and contractors in performing cutting edge research on nonkinetic weapon options developing high power radio frequency sources and associated high energy components used to create new militarily relevant weapons for the warfighter.

    Provides direction to, and assigns work/schedules to military and civilian scientists and engineers. Monitors branch activities, provides oversight, and communicates up and down the chain of command.

    Establishes and maintains contact with internal and external networks, and maintains cognizance of technological developments related to HPEM computational physics, design and test of HPEM source technologies, and research into next generation directed energy systems to provide recommendations on areas of work relevant to Air Force research.

    Exercises authority in establishing and evaluating performance and contribution standards.
    Monitors work of employees and provides high-quality feedback.
    Recommends appointments, promotions, reassignments, and disciplinary measures.
    Proactively promotes career development and training for each employee.
    Initiates other personnel actions, e.g., awards.

    Applies EEO principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and recommendations, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination.

    Promotes a culture where intellectual Property (IP) is developed, documented, protected and encouraged.
    Inherent in the technical publication review process is a thorough screening for potential IP.
    Scientific/engineering knowledge will be utilized to effectively assist in IP transfer, transition or commercialization.

    Required Qualifications

    US Citizenship
    Current or ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
    Bachelor's Degree in related field

    Desired Qualifications

    MS or PhD in a related field
    Electromagnetics source design/testing experience
    10+ years relevant experience
