    All American Detox Center is looking for Detox Technicians for our program in Woodland hills. Qualifications and responsibilities listed below:

    Summary

    The Detox Technician is responsible for assisting and carrying out a variety of clinical and program services. This individual plays an essential role in the assurance of the admitting process, orientation to new residents and overall resident management. Receives supervision and direction from Program Director. Works cooperatively as a recovery team member.

    Minimum Qualifications

    · Minimum of a high school diploma (college degree preferred).

    · Minimum of one (1) year training/experience in addiction preferred and/or currently pursuing a degree in addiction or related behavioral health field. Experience must include at least one (1) year of experience with target population (chemical dependency and/or mental health).

    · Demonstrated ability to cooperate with team members and work in collaborative team setting, flexible in accepting assignments that correspond with a varied workload.

    · Communication skills sufficient to assess residents and interpret this information in terms of chemical dependency.

    · Demonstrated sufficient understanding in the process of dependency/addiction and knowledge of available recovery resources and their use(s).

    · Maintains current CPR and First Aid training.

    · Current TB Test or secured at time of hire.

    · Be certified, licensed, or registered to obtain licensure or certification, or if not licensed or certified, will have six months after hire to be registered, in an accredited institution as defined by Chapter 8, Certification of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, to become a licensed or certified counselors.

    · Valid unrestricted state driver's license.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    · Observes and monitors resident behavior and intervenes based on schedule, individual resident treatment plan and house needs.

    · Conducts urinalysis (UA) drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures.

    · Supervises self-administration of resident medications.

    · Documents observations/interventions in resident records/shift log during every shift/group.

    · Coordinates residents' treatment with counseling staff.

    · Facilitates daily activities in a residential component; waking up residents, chore supervision, assists with meal service, makes coffee on the daily basis, assists with laundry.

    · Transports residents to airport, detox, appointments, hospital, doctor office, outside meetings, store runs, recreational groups and other guest/company transportation requirements

    · Ensures resident telephones are available during designated hours.

    · Conducts regular house checks to ensure safety and security.

    · Completes new residents' admission/intake paperwork and conducts orientations including person and baggage search.

    · Provides one-on-one supervision of at-risk residents (ACA risk; suicidal ideation, etc.) and ACA prevention per directive from Technician Supervisor or Program Director.

    · Conducts house checks.

    · Completes filing and other miscellaneous administrative work as assigned.

    · Work schedule includes assignments to support residents in 24/7 facility.

    · Maintain and pass annual background check and TB screening, as well as random drug screening.

    · Performs other related duties as assigned.
