    Job Summary

    The Speech Therapist CFY role involves providing speech and language therapy services to patients in a home health setting. This position is designed for recent graduates completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). The therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, developing individualized treatment plans to enhance patient outcomes.

    As a Speech Therapist CFY, you will:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, and swallowing functions in patients.
    • Utilize standardized tests and clinical observations to diagnose disorders.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to gather relevant information.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
    • Provide therapy for speech, language, and voice disorders, as well as swallowing difficulties.
    • Use various therapeutic techniques and technologies to meet patient needs.
    • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
    • Educate patients and their families about communication and swallowing disorders.
    • Provide training on strategies to enhance speech and language skills at home.
    • Offer guidance on dietary modifications and safe swallowing techniques.

    You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists. As a successful Speech Therapist CFY, you must possess:

    • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • A temporary CA state license or certification to practice as a Speech Therapist CFY.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Please note that you will be assigned to a primary location; however, you may be required to cover vacancies, leave of absences, or support increased census and client care needs outside of your assigned area.
