This position is for an Industrial Engineer supporting our critical product line at our site that will apply advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations. The overarching roles and responsibilities of this position are improving quality, reducing costs, and improving the flow of product through automation and process improvements. This is a blended role that encompasses not only the industrial engineering tasks but will also require collaboration and influence with a program.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on potential improvements related to equipment/fixture design, process, procedures, personnel, floor layouts, or training to ensure the most efficient sequence of operations and work flow in all areas of manufacturing
  • Conduct studies and provide analytical input on documents or operational procedures in the areas of cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production schedule/record systems
  • Provide measurable input into the sequence of operations and work instructions
  • Develop/improve standard work in areas such as process documentation, preventative maintenance, and validation/verification
  • Contribute significantly to plans for allocation of materials, floor space, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of resources (e.g. build line design, sequencing, loading, & staffing plans)
  • Prepare project cost estimates and cost benefit analysis to validate cost requirements/targets against pertinent business plan(s) and program expectations while achieving economic goals for complex systems and products in production and/or under development
  • Program, integrate, and validate/verify new manufacturing equipment
  • Review products/processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks and modify/develop new processes or tooling/fixtures to make improvements OR work with design to incorporate changes to eliminate the risks
  • Manage moderately sized projects or processes
  • Resolve problems that are difficult and often complex with minimal oversight
  • Subject matter expert that provides guidance and support to teams needing expertise
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to junior level professionals
  • Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing areas such as: standard work, process flow optimization, lean manufacturing, cost benefit analysis, station loading/line balancing, staffing planning, and capacity analysis, manufacturing lead time analysis, statistical process control tool, PFMEA knowledge
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience with Tableau/PowerBI
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
  • Experience with SAP/Configuration management
  • Programming and troubleshooting process equipment
