The Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Psychometric Services in the College of Education and Human invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor tenure track position.

The Counseling program is CACREP accredited and offers both master's and specialist degree programs. The department is currently seeking someone with expertise and experience in the area of Clinical Mental Health/School Counseling.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education

Must have an earned Doctorate in Counselor Education with a clinical mental health or school counseling concentration.

Minimum Required Experience

Evidence of experience in a clinical mental health/school counseling setting, and preferably have licensure as a professional counselor (LPC), national certified school counselor (NCSC) and/or hold the NCC.

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

None

Must demonstrate the potential for successful research, teaching, and service

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Teaching online graduate level courses.
• Conducting and planning research activities.
• Supervising clinical experiences.
• Advising graduate students.
• Collaborating with community mental health organizations.
• Preparing grant applications to secure funding for training, research, and service.
• Serving on departmental, school, and university committees.
• Participating in student research activities including participation in students' thesis committees.
• Contributing to the department's growth and productivity.
• Preparing students seeking national certification and professional licensure.
• Assisting with the advisement of the JSU Online Educational Specialist programs.
