As our Shelter Veterinarian, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every animal in our care receives high-quality medical treatment and compassionate attention. From performing life-changing spay/neuter surgeries to guiding treatment plans and supporting staff, your work will directly improve animal health, wellbeing, and adoptability.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, and treatment for shelter animals
- Perform spay/neuter and other soft-tissue surgeries
- Support vaccination clinics and diagnostic testing (x-ray, blood work, cytology)
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to support animal health and welfare decisions
- Supervise and mentor Veterinary Assistants
- Participate in humane euthanasia decisions in accordance with policy and law
- Maintain accurate medical records and compliance standards

Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
- Eligible for California veterinary license + DEA license
- 2–3 years of private practice or shelter medicine experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $160,763 – $178,620 annually
