Job Title: Echocardiogram Technician

As an Echocardiogram Technician, you will be responsible for performing adult echocardiograms, adult and pediatric ECG's, monitoring cardiac status in stress testing including chemical and treadmill, conducting 24 and 48 hour Holter monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, resting and exercise oximetry, as well as handling breathing treatments and responding to Code blue and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform echocardiogram, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo, ECG, treadmill, holter monitor, holter monitor scanning, ambulatory blood pressure monitor, ABI, KOH, and explain procedures to patients.
• Maintain current records for echo-lab certification requirements, including study review, technician requirements, and Physician compliance status.
• Ensure correct charges are applied before forwarding them for billing coding.
• Stay updated with education CME's for Echo registry.

Qualifications:


Knowledge & Skills:

Experience:
Minimum of two to five years of relevant experience.

Education:

Completion of a two-year college degree or specialized course of study at a business or trade school or finishing a specialized and comprehensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills:
Effective communication skills are vital, coupled with trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tact. The role involves substantial personal interactions that are often of a sensitive or personal nature, sometimes requiring motivation or influencing others. Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with external entities (companies and individuals) is essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent full range of body motion involved in handling patients.
• Manual dexterity, finger coordination, and eye-hand coordination are necessary.
• Frequent lifting of items weighing 35 lbs. or more, occasionally assisting in moving patients from wheelchairs to tables and vice versa.
