    The Actuarial Practice of Oliver Wyman works with companies to manage property and casualty, life and annuity, and healthcare risks across a broad range of industries. Our firm assists with quantification of risk and loss exposures, and provides advice on external business strategy, internal risk management, implications of mergers and acquisitions, and new product development. We use mathematical and statistical modeling skills and our qualitative assessment methodologies to assist our clients in evaluating and addressing risk. We offer solutions so our clients may manage and prepare for the potential financial consequences of uncertain future events.

    Job Title: Deputy Chief of Staff

    Department: Property & Casualty (P&C) Actuarial Practice, Operations Services

    Reports to: P&C and Operations Chief of Staff

    Oliver Wyman is seeking an exceptional qualified candidate for a Deputy Chief of Staff position in our Actuarial practice providing a strong mix of strategic and tactical support to the Property & Casualty (P&C) Actuarial Practice and Operations Services teams. The primary responsibilities are to support the P&C Practice Partners and Operations Leadership Team to advance strategic initiatives and execute various projects, including monthly reporting, strategic communications, presentations, pipeline management, and other marketing efforts. Additionally, this role involves leading and/or assisting with ongoing and special projects, aiding the Practice Leader/COO and Chief of Staff to advance and prioritize initiatives and maintaining a solid view of the issues central to the success of our business.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Contribute productively to a cohesive executive team to serve our firm, our people, and our clients as we drive the business forward to achieve the vision
    • Work collaboratively with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies
    • Recommend and advise leaders on courses of action to address myriad topics and issues facing the business
    • Identify meeting outcomes needed to advance initiatives and craft agendas and facilitate discussions and actions to achieve them
    • Work with leadership to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress toward goals
    • Identify, plan, manage, and execute needed communications for P&C and Operations Team
    • Respond to inquiries on behalf of the Leadership team
    • Oversee strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation
    • Identify and help to solve problems and/or capitalize on opportunities
    • Provide senior leaders with insight and analysis on various initiatives and efforts
    • Assess risk in decision-making efforts
    • Provide support and oversight for special projects and initiative
    • Identify and recommend improvements across the organization

    • Able to interface professionally, credibly, and objectively with colleagues and stakeholders
    • Willingness to travel as needed in support of the business. Percentage will vary based on need, but likely minimum of 15-25%

    Experience Required

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • 5+ years of experience working at the C-suite or senior level in administration support or other role
    • Experience managing complex projects from ideation to completion
    • Experience managing multiple projects with competing, tight deadlines
    • Experience handling highly confidential, sensitive, and business-critical issues
    • Experience building presentations for Boards or other senior leadership
    • Prior management of internal and/or external communications for a senior leader
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and trust at the highest levels

    The applicable base salary range for this role is $84,000 - $137,000.

    The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, exams, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
