    Seeking an experienced Steel Construction Estimator for an excellent career opportunity with a thriving company.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Advises General Manager on issues.
    • Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
    • Recommends measures to improve performance, and quality of product.
    • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual department.
    • Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects or services.
    • Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.
    • Reads structural and architectural prints and specifications.
    • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for bids; selects vendors or subcontractors; and determines cost effectiveness.
    • Contacts subs and vendors and notifies them of upcoming bids.
    • Puts entire "cost" of an estimate together.
    • Does minor design/build work.
    • Updates and schedules takeoff resources internally.
    • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolves issues.
    • Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.
    • Performs data entry into Fabtrol.

    Supervisory and Management Duties:

      • Supervise, lead, and manage department employees.
      • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department.
      • Hires, fires, trains, supervise and disciplines estimating personnel as necessary.
      • Recommends plan personnel wages.
      • Studies schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
      • Maintains an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
      • Leads staff initiatives to maximize organizational efficiency and profitability.
      • Provide appropriate instruction and/or training resources to Department personnel.
      • Monitor and direct the day to day activities of Department personnel.
      • Support Company management with operational performance analysis.
      • Perform special projects as assigned by company management.

    Requirements

    1. Bachelor's Degree.

    2. 3 or more years of Steel Construction Estimating experience.
