DescriptionMBMS, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Medical Biller for our State College, PA office. The Medical Biller/AR Specialist will be posting charges, billing, performing follow-up and payment posting. The candidate needs to have recent experience in communicating with payers and patients to resolve any questions or concerns.
This non-exempt position is responsible for Accounts Receivable review, resolution and follow-up with accuracy and in a timely manner.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Minimum 2 years recent physician billing experience
- Knowledge of 1500 billing
- Familiarity of the functionality of the revenue cycle
- Ability to learn and use electronic billing software.
- Review reports and correspondence to locate and address outstanding insurance claims and patient balances via email and phone.
- Review and address insurance and patient over-payments/refunds.
- Process corrected claims and appeals as needed.
- Ability to read and properly evaluate an EOB and to enter data quickly and accurately.
- Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding as well as medical terminology.
- Must have experience with all insurance plans, i.e. Medicaid, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Minimum two years' experience to include Medical Professional Billing & Accounts Receivable follow-up.
- Prior Electronic Health Records experience preferred.
- Ability to operate computers, and general office equipment (copier, fax, scanner), and multi line telephones.
- Ability to work well with others in a positive manner at all times.
