    Description

    **Job Title: Conventional Manual Machinist**

    **Job Description**

    Seeking a skilled Conventional Machinist who specializes in plastics and has a strong background in operating manual machines including large lathes, large mills (both horizontal and vertical), grinders, and lapping machines. The ideal candidate will handle the setup and operation of manual lathes, mills, grinders, tool grinders, and drills, and will primarily service and repair compressors, as well as manufacture piston rings. The role requires the ability to read, interpret, and work from complex engineering blueprints, and use various measuring tools to inspect manufactured parts to ensure they meet drawing tolerances. The position involves working with both manual (75%) and CNC machines (25%).

    **Hard Skills**

    + 5+ years of manual machining experience

    + Proficiency in operating mills and lathes

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints

    + Experience with carbon and stainless materials

    **Soft Skills**

    + Attention to detail

    + Precision in measurement and inspection

    + Adaptability to both manual and CNC machining

    **Work Site**

    This is a fully on-site position in Port Allen, Louisiana.

    **Work Environment**

    The position is based in a temperature-regulated, brand new machine shop with 11 employees, including salespeople. The shift runs from 6 AM to 4 PM, with potential call-outs on weekends. Employees average over 50 hours a week.
