    Avera is currently seeking a highly motivated Compliance Director

    • As a Compliance Director develop, implement, and evaluate the regional and hospital wide compliance program and services in conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer.

    Job Summary

    Responsible to assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of the compliance program. Facilitates internal audits to include collection, recording, and analysis of data. Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and coordination of government payer Targeted Probe and Educate Audits, Comprehensive Error Rate Testing Audits and Recovery Audit Contractor requests. Responsible for the planning and development for the Avera compliance program. The Compliance Director serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory and compliance issues, provides advice and consultation to ensure potential issues of noncompliance are properly evaluated, investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Works in conjunction with the Chief Compliance Officer. Will have accountability and responsibility for the overall operation of these services in addition to providing compliance oversight to the Avera regional facilities

    The Compliance Director may be responsible for providing consultation with regards to planning, designing, implementing and maintaining safety programs, safety management, coordinating Accreditation/Certification requirements and collaborates with regulatory agency surveyors during on site and off site activities.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in business or a health care related field preferred.
    • Three to five years of experience in Health Care Compliance preferred.
