    3rd shift Weld Assembly (Quality Leader) Team 3 & Team 2 (2 positions open)

    Purpose of Job:

    This position reports to the Weld Machine Group Leader, Supervisor, and Manager and is responsible for inspecting parts for 1st & last piece layouts, tryouts, and required frequencies per the Process Quality Control Table (PQCT), Poke-Yoke checks in a timely manner. And any special study testing requirements as needed.

    Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:

    This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.

    Minimum experience required:

    Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Blueprint reading, knowledge of computers, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and cut & etch process is a plus.

    Requirements

    Essential Responsibilities:
    1. Perform 1st and last piece layouts in a timely manner.
    2. Can accurately read PQCT part prints.
    3. Adequately understands gage calibration, knows when a gage is in need of calibration or repair.
    4. Willingly assists in group hold areas when needed.
    5. Carefully audits multi-out parts to verify labeled correctly.
    6. Accurately releases sorted parts from the hold area.
    7. Actively assists in training of operators in quality checks.
    8. Ensures green tag is properly completed and at correct work center at the start of a run.
    9. Precisely monitors quality checks during production.
    10. Communicates with accuracy all pertinent employee quality performance information to group leader and above
    11. Ensure gages that are needed for each job are at the specified work center.
    12. Has working knowledge of any and all poke-yokes
    13. Accurately understands the process in which a B-9/B16- key is to be used and how to ensure no defective parts get out during this process.
    14. Competent on how to use and train others on correct use of tongue wrenches, force testers, calipers, indicators, and all other inspection equipment used for weld machine inspection.
    15. Knowledgeable on how to create a new poke-yoke retention sheet.
    16. Efficiently operates work centers/welders when needed to meet production requirements.
    17. Proficiently keep 1st/last piece part bins up to date (last 2 production runs).
    18. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Lean: Participate in and support lean manufacturing programs and principles with a focus to reduce costs with quality product such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Suggestion System, etc. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement to continually strive to improve our processes and procedures. Adhere to 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain. Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures. Other: Perform any other duties as assigned with enthusiasm and without complaint. Travel Occasional domestic travel may be required for this position. Protective clothing/equipment required:
