    Overview:

    As a Senior Consultant at Buck, you will:

    • Work within a team to serve as an advisor for clients and project managers.
    • Collaborate with Account Managers to coordinate service delivery and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Contribute to new business development efforts and corporate initiatives, as appropriate.
    • Serve as lead consultant for some accounts and/or supervise junior staff members.
    Responsibilities:
    • Utilize data to project client plan costs and advise clients during annual budgeting and rate-setting process for health and group benefits.
    • Evaluate and analyze benefit plans to provide recommendations based on cost-effectiveness, employee needs, and industry best practices.
    • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes in health and group insurance and benefits, ensuring client plans comply with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Engage with vendors to negotiate competitive arrangements and manage ongoing relationships.
    • Collaborate with colleagues from other Buck specialty areas, including Pharmacy, Engagement, and Time-Off to advise clients on all facets of benefits.
    • Some client travel may be required, as well as periodic in-person meetings in the Pittsburgh, PA office.
    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
    • 5 years of experience in health benefits consulting, management, or insurance company underwriting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience with Microsoft office software, especially Excel.
    • Strong understanding of healthcare and ancillary group benefits plan design and administration.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.

    Preferred:

    • Additional certifications in benefits consulting or insurance are a plus.
