Job summary
The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Communications Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching resources, and providing lifesaving medical assistance. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.The Communications Center is open 24/7 and requires shift work with nights and weekends on a regular basis. Employees are expected to work holidays such as the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day. Benefits include advanced starting pay for candidates with prior experience,
Scheduled Time Off (Vacation) - accrual starts on the first day of employment,
Personal Time Off - 64 hours per calendar year available after 14 days of employment,
Health insurance plans including Tier 1 standard co-pay plan or High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with HSA contribution from employer,Dental Insurance where county pays either single or family coverage.
- Schedule: Regular shifts may vary but generally consist of one week working five consecutive days followed by two off then three off before beginning another five-day period.
- Holidays: Ten paid holidays each year As part-time employee receive pro-rated holiday pay based upon position budgeted FTE.
