- Ensure timely month end close processing and financial statement review and distribution.
- Create and review reports, analyze variances, and distribute to management.
- Perform and/or review monthly account reconciliations and various accounts payable reconciliations.
- Manage AP relationship with Corporate Services.
- Oversight of GAAP to STAT entries and tracking.
- Direct NAIC Quarterly and Annual Filings information with external partner.
- Takes point in collecting support and tracking during various audits.
- Other accounting projects and functions as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare insurance environment.
- Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), understanding of Statutory Reporting (STAT) beneficial.
- Must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with team members and managers.
- Excellent Excel skills are required.
- Workday experience a plus.
- Superior organizational skills, strong task management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Also important are excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers, and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- A positive attitude, with a high degree of ethics and personal integrity, as well as confidentiality, are traits needed to be successful in this role.
