    The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Lecturer, School of Social Work, College of Urban Affairs [R0141140].

    ROLE of the POSITION

    The School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a position as a non-tenure track Lecturer in Social Work starting Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. Lecturers at UNLV are expected to teach four courses (12 credit hours) per semester and perform service. We are especially interested in candidates with LCSW licensure, experience in trauma treatment in the community, trauma informed empirically supported treatment training, and experience in teaching courses on trauma.

    PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE

    Housed in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, the School of Social Work has approximately 120 BSW undergraduate majors and 185 MSW graduate students. Its programs emphasize three areas: Management and Community Practice, Direct Practice, and Trauma Informed Practice. In addition, social work students spend over 100,000 hours annually in practicum-based field education. The program emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion; critical thinking; and applied learning. Students can participate in the School's local chapter of Phi Alpha and the UASWS organization.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    This position requires a MSW from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a minimum of five years of experience as a LCSW. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
